Lodging
Our home base, Fredericksburg, has a number of lodging options.
The official DFW VROC location is the Super 8 Motel. However, for those that
want to stay in other places or because the Super 8 is sold out, check out
the other options. We suggest you make your plans early to get the best
accommodations.
Super 8 Motel
The Super 8 is the HCR VIII base of operations. However, should
the Super 8 be full, please consider the Sunday House which is directly
across the street where we have blocked off a number of rooms. Just
mention the VROC HCR VIII when registering at either location.
Sunday House Inn
The Sunday House is directly across the street from the Super 8 and we have
blocked out rooms. If the Super 8 is booked, then try the Sunday house.
Fredericksburg KOA
If you like to camp, this KOA is in a good location. They have a limited number
of tent sites but they do have cabins.

Things to Do
Bats! Watch the millions of
bats that emerge from the tunnel at the
Old Tunnel Wildlife Management Area. We'll have groups down there most
every night. Here are a couple of videos. There are a lot of bats in these
videos. Even though it's very dark, you can still see the sky filled with them
as they leave the tunnel.

Tour the
Admiral Nimitz Museum.
Vist Enchanted
Rock State Park and, if you so desire, climb
Enchanted Rock's summit.
Ride the Willow Loop and see lots and lots of bluebonnets.
Visit the
Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site and see the
wildflowers and historic stuff.
Have some German beer at any of the biergartens.

Day Spas

your reservations quickly before they fill up.
Make sure you mention VROC when making a reservation. The cost is
$65.00 for a one hour massage but both locations offer a variety of services.
